Maximising Woolworth’s Everyday Rewards

Inflation has been over the roof since COVID! I remember back in the days a large pack of chips only cost $3 but now they are literally on special for $4 if not more. Any little bit of money saved from grocery can be used to build up our investment portfolio!

So with that in mind I have been shopping at Aldi/market for the essentials and occasionally shop in Woolworth/Coles as they are just so expensive these days! What is interesting with Woolworths and Coles is that they have their loyalty program and you could earn points as you shop with them. I will write a separate post on Flybuys however I do find Woolworth Rewards to have better deals compared to Coles Flybuys. But it doesn’t hurt to sign up to both program!

You can sign up to Rewards or Flybuys easily online for free!

Now it’s not worth your time if you just earn points by shopping & scanning the reward card each time as $1 is only worth 1 point and 2000 points will only be $10 off your shop (or 1000 Qantas points). The trick to maximizing your point is to use the boosted offers in the Rewards App.

Some of the offers are essentially giving away free money:

Yes as you can tell I only shop at Woolworth when there’s a good booster deal! The best offers typically involve points with no minimum spending requirements. Since these deals aren’t always available, I will check the app on weekly basis for any new sweet offer.

Another hot tip is the app tracks your spending habit so it stops giving nice boosters to you once you shop frequently at Woolworth. This is not a problem for me as I will just shop elsewhere until a good offer appears but if Woolworth is your main grocery shop, be warned!

You could choose to automatically convert the points into $10 off your shop or bank it for Christmas shopping. Alternatively you could also convert every 2000 points into 1000 Qantas points in the Rewards App:

Qantas points can be very handy for travelling on the budget! I will write a separate post on getting free Qantas points but as a quick hack, you could sign up to Qantas Wellbeing App and get free Qantas points for free by just simply walking!

You can download the Wellbeing App directly from the App store or via this link

You can also get an additional 150 Qantas point upon signing up & completing your first challenge by using my referral code HANXUE. Additionally, I’ll receive 150 Qantas points, which I plan to use to fund my next trip—very much appreciated!
