Earning Money Online – Shopping with Cash Backs!

Hello fellow FIREr! Another busy week and a big blow to my monthly budget as our hot water system decided to finally retire after serving for 24 years. It’s surprising how little we appreciate hot water access, until it’s no longer available! More information to come with my monthly asset update in the next post 🙂

I hope it’s not the first time that you heard about Cashbacks when shopping online, because if that’s the case, you have been missing out big time!! I have received around 2k in cash back since I first started using them a few years back and absolutely loving the savings!

With Cashback, essentially you create an account with the relevant Cashback website (I would recommend Cashrewards and Shopback, there is also sign up bonus using my referral link) then search for the brand or website you would like to make the purchase in the Cashback website, visit the website via link generated by the Cashback website and make the purchase per normal.

For example, I would like to buy a few things from Big W Online, I will search Big W in the Cashback website (2.4% or 2.25% at the time of post) and click on Shop Now to proceed to Big W to make my purchase. I usually like to compare both websites before making a purchase as sometimes one website have better cash back rate than the other. I will make my purchase on Big W and wait for Cashrewards to process the 2.4% cashback to my account, this may take up to weeks or months, but I am not in a rush. Once I have enough cash back in my Cash Reward account (>$10.01), I could start withdrawing to my bank!

The Cashback website will not keep your credit card or bank details! The only time that you will provide such information is when you wish to make withdrawals.

Cash Rewards also have a nice little video that explains how it works, click here if you are interested!

These 2 websites are by far the best cash back websites I have used. I love booking my trips using the cashback sites, particularly when Agoda or Booking has a special cash back rate of 10-15%. If you have something in mind, it’s worth keeping an eye out for upcoming special cash back rates which tend to pop up more around Easter, Christmas, Black Fridays, etc.

If you would like to give them a try, I would appreciate if you could sign up using my referral links (Cashrewards and Shopback), you will also get an extra $10 or $30 upon signing up 🙂

Happy shopping!
